xray cheque presentation

This past year, the KDH Foundation was thrilled to fund several important priorities at KDH, including a new X-ray machine, made possible with the generous support of a matching donation from the late Gavin Murphy; a respirator with Bi-PAP-capability to support respiratory care; an Emergency Department Safe Room for mental health patients, a critical initiative aimed at enhancing patient care and safety; and a new surgical post to support surgical care. These important investments were made possible through the incredible generosity of our donors and community, helping to enhance patient care and support our local health care team.

Previous Years

In 2025, the KDH Foundation surpassed its $2.2 million fundraising goal through the Crossroads Campaign, and the Tallman Family CT Scanner Suite became a reality. The CT Scanner has been in operation since April 14, 2025, and has already performed more than 2,000 scans. Having a CT Scanner on-site at KDH has reduced regional CT wait times, enhanced patient care quality, and transformed local healthcare delivery. It has strengthened emergency and inpatient services while greatly reducing the need for patient transfers, ensuring timely, efficient, and high-quality care right here at KDH.

In 2024, the KDH Foundation purchased a Point of Care Ultrasound (POCUS) for the Emergency Department. Dr. Colin Sentongo, KDH Chief of Staff, expressed his appreciation to the Foundation for their support and said POCUS ensures “that those involved in direct patient care continue to have the tools needed to serve the KDH community”.

In 2023, the KDH Foundation funded $250,000 for the purchase of Ventilators for the OR.
