New CT scan for the Kemptville District Hospital.
KDH has recognized that it is no longer enough for our ER to have only x-ray and ultrasound capabilities. We need to be able to offer CT scans.
Recently, the hospital received approval from the Ontario Government to operate a CT scan at KDH.
However, government approval does not come with government funding.
In order to accommodate a new CT scan, the hospital needs to build a new space. The hospital leadership approached both the Municipality of North Grenville and the United Counties of Leeds and Grenville to ask for funding for the build.
We are pleased to report that both agreed to fund the renovation project with a $900,000 commitment over 10 years for a total of $1.8 million.
The hospital has also committed to funding the ongoing operating costs associated with running the CT scan.
The Foundation has been asked to raise the necessary funding to purchase the scan estimated at $800,000 to $1.2 million.
